The Steelers have placed Ulysees Gilbert III on the Reserve/Injured List for the 2019 season. In his place James Conner Jersey , the Steelers have promoted LB Robert Spillane from he practice squad to the 53-man roster. Spillane spent time with the Tennessee Titans in 2018, first with their practice squad before being promoted for one regular season game. The Steelers signed Spillane this past off-season and he spent all of training camp with the team in Latrobe. Spillane was originally placed on the practice squad but was dropped after Week 3 only to be re-signed heading in to Week 6. As for Gilbert, he led the Steelers in special teams snaps in each of the first six games of the season before missing Week 8 with a back injury. Returning for Week 9, Gilbert logged another 15 special team snaps. In his Tuesday press conference, Coach Tomlin mentioned Gilbert would be missing some time with his injury. Unfortunately, this roster move means his 2019 season is over. The Steelers also made two additions and released one player from their practice squad. Running back Darrin Hall was just added last week to the Steelers’ practice squad to add depth at the position. But with James Conner still a possibility to play this Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, and with the Steelers currently having five running backs and a full back on the active roster, they decided to move on from Hall. The two players signed to the practice squad were tight end Kevin Rader who was released last week. The Steelers also added wide receiver Terry Wright. Wright was undrafted in 2019 out of Purdue and spent training camp with the Seattle Seahawks. Add in the addition of Vic Fangio and his defensive scheme with Bill Kollar returning and you should expect some big things from Gotsis in 2019. The goodGotsis is arguably the Broncos best run defender on the team. He is a big man who has the strength and power to take on double teams, bull rush offensive lineman, fill running lanes and shed blocks to get after the ball carrier. He is damn good at it and really flourished in that role last season for the Broncos defense. He was asked if he felt like that Defensive Line coach Bill Kollar trusted him more last season and Gotsis told reporters that he felt like he did.I would expect his role in the defense and trust from coaches to only grow this upcoming season, especially with Fangio coaching the defense.Like just about every other defensive player I will do a write up on this summer, I am going to mention Fangio’s impact on them. He puts his players in roles that fit them better, he turns them into better players, and more often than not, these players have career years under him. I believe Gotsis is a candidate for this type of breakout year this season.Isaiah J. Fangio asks his lineman to attack the gaps more while also being physical as well. This fits Gotsis skill set very well and why I think he could be in for a big year for the Broncos. The bad Gotsis is a bit of a one-trick pony. He is a very good run defender, but he doesn’t give you a ton in the pass rush department. He can bull rush and get in the backfield on occasion, but he has only totaled 5 sacks during the past three seasons. He is coming off a career-high 3.0 sack season for the Broncos Womens Dre'Mont Jones Jersey , so hopefully, he can continue to improve in that area, but it is something he is not known for. Teaming first-round draft pick Noah Fant, who projects as the ‘move’ tight end,with Heuerman or Butt could be a dynamic duo in the new offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello’s offense.Although Heuerman has been plagued with injuries, the veteran says he feels great and the entire TE corps is motivated for the new offense - especially with the addition of a stud rookie.“Noah’s a good player, and when we add good players it’s good for the team,” he said. “Ultimately, we want to have a good team to win games. We’re working together and it’s going to be good. Nix exited the Steelers first game of the season and has not been able to practice in any form since Week 1. The other two players who missed the Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Chargers were running back Jaylen Samuels and inside linebacker Mark Barron. Keeping it balanced is something many here on the boards have wanted. I myself would like a repeat of what we saw last week, and that is more FB and more of Ben under center. Joe Mixon is a dual purpose back and could cause issues in this game on Sunday if Pittsburgh can’t cover him out of the backfield. Reports are showing Vince Williams should be back to his usual role, and L.J. Fort hasn’t practiced this week meaning he is likely out. After the game that Fort had against the Falcons I’m feeling a little uneasy knowing Williams could be matched up with Mixon. The middle of the defense has been exposed at times, and Vince hasn’t ever been mentioned as a coverage guy. Jon Bostic has played solid T. J. Watt Jersey White , but I feel he is also a liability in coverage, he is better than Williams, but that isn’t saying much. I’m hoping to see more aggressive blitzing by Butler. Hopefully the Steelers have success, and that keeps Mixon out of the passing game and they have to keep him in to block. Though his English was non-existent, he had good music taste and to try to help her feel better, he calmly sang, “Don’t worry, be happy.” Apparently this was met with a mix of laughter and terror but after the 10th re-telling of the story, it actually made me think of my Denver Broncos.The Broncos in 2015 were an E-bike with turbo. They had just won a Super Bowl and though the Hall of Fame QB was retiring, they had still managed to keep together one of the best defenses the league had ever seen and retained some good pieces on offense as well. They were ready to roll with a well-oiled, though QB-less machine.
