After a change of heart, Barr is staying in Minnesota, but the same can’t be said for many other now-former Vikings who were cut or allowed to walk. The rest of the NFC North knows Barr. Packers fans know him especially well, unfortunately. Their free agent additions who are new to the team are less sexy than the Barr re-signing, however. They signed guard Josh Kline to a three-year, $15.5 million deal, defensive tackle Shamar Stephen for three years, and quarterback Sean Mannion to backup Kirk Cousins. The glaring weakness for the Vikings the past couple seasons has been their patchwork offensive line. Kline might be another band-aid attempting to cover much more serious symptoms. Kline played 16 games at guard for the Tennessee Titans last year, but was released and replaced with former Rams guard Roger Saffold. Kline does have the longest active start streak among guards in the NFL (46 games), however. The signing of Shamar Stephen helps ease the loss of Sheldon Richardson and while having insurance to backup Kirk Cousins is good, Mannion is far from a sure thing. He will have to secure the backup spot and compete with Kyle Sloter (Yeah, I had to Google that name, too). With their salary cap tied up pretty significantly in high-end players, the Vikings need to really hit on their draft picks to provide the requisite depth needed for deep playoff runs. Losing Tom Compton and Nick Easton while releasing Mike Remmers on the offensive line isn’t terrible from a talent perspective, but it does make them thin at a unit tasked with protecting their expensive quarterback. The Vikings also took some hits in the secondary, losing safeties Andrew Sendejo and George Iloka Dean Lowry Jersey , but the biggest hole from that unit could be losing Marcus Sherels. The corner and punt returner was always a threat to take one to the house on special teams, even if he didn’t provide above average coverage skills.Running backs are pretty replaceable and the Vikings will look to do just that after losing Latavius Murray. Former Lion Ameer Abdullah and Michael Boone are the primary backups on the depth chart behind Dalvin Cook and I expect Boone to be the primary relief guy. Not only because Abdullah is an under-performing pass-catching back, but because Boone showed real promise last preseason. The Vikings have been able to retain their blue-chip talent for the most part, but their lack of depth could really rear its ugly head as the season goes along. For the effect it will have for the Vikings" Fantasy FootballMinnesota Vikings 2019 OffseasonPro Football Focus rates Latavius Murray’s departure one of the most significant fantasy football movesNew,53commentsFor the effect it will have for the VikingsCDTA bit earlier today, we touched on where Dalvin Cook stands among the running backs in the National Football League Ben Gedeon Jersey , and it sounds as though another prominent outlet is expecting big things from the third-year back for the Minnesota Vikings this season.Pro Football Focus put together an article about the eight most significant moves from this past offseason for fantasy football purposes, and one move that they listed was the departure of Latavius Murray, who moved on to the New Orleans Saints this offseason after a couple of productive years in Minnesota. The move was cited not for the effect it’s going to have on New Orleans. . .because, seriously, who cares. . .but rather for the effect it would have on the Vikings, and specifically on Cook.To show just how big a part of the Vikings’ offense Cook could, potentially, be, PFF also offered up a pretty interesting graphic about Cook’s usage over his first two seasons.Cook has been available to the Vikings for 15 games in his first two seasons. In 13 of those 15 games http://www.thevikingslockerroom.com/authentic-mackensie-alexander-jersey , he’s been on the field for at least 50% of the team’s offensive snaps, with the two exceptions being Week 4 in 2017 (the game where he tore his ACL) and Week 4 in 2018 (where he was on a “pitch count” and only played the first half). In seven of those games, he’s been on the field for at least 75% of the Vikings’ plays on offense (and had one other game where he was at 73%). That shows that, when he’s healthy, he’s definitely able to shoulder the load in the Minnesota backfield. With Cook’s primary backups at this point being a rookie in Alexander Mattison and a relatively inexperienced back in Mike Boone, the sky would appear to be the limit for Cook in 2019. . .say it along with me. . .if he can stay healthy.

George Paton and Saints director of pro scouting Terry Fontenot — will interview. Paton has turned down chances to interview with the Jets in 2013 and 2015.Cimini also mentioned the possibility of adding more candidates to the mix, but they could move quickly with who they have lined up now. Both Douglas and Kelly have relationships with coach/acting G.M. NFL Radio reports that the Patriots will release Brian Hoyer on Saturday. That leaves fourth-round pick Jarrett Stidham as the only quarterback on the roster behind Brady. The move does not come as a great surprise. It was always unlikely that the Patriots would cut Stidham this summer and his play during the exhibition season made it all the more unlikely that they’d expose the rookie to the waiver wire.Hoyer has served two stints with the Patriots as Brady’s backup and has started games for the Browns Duke Dawson Jerseys Stitched , Texans, 49ers, Bears and Cardinals over the course of his career. That kind of experience will likely draw interest from teams that aren’t sold on their current backup options. Given the fact that they’ve kicked the tires on players like Brandon Weeden, Brock Osweiler and Matt Cassel, the Colts come to mind as one potential suitor. Revenge is a dish best served... on Sundays? For the first team since their meeting in Super Bowl 52, the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles will go up against each other later this week. A lot has happened for the Patriots since their 41-33 loss on the game’s biggest stage — most notably the team recapturing the Super Bowl just one year later — but one man is still not over the defeat almost two years later: Tom Brady. The six-time world champion was asked about the upcoming rematch between the Patriots and Eagles during an appearance on WEEI’s The Greg Hill Show on Monday morning N'Keal Harry Jersey Patriots , and he made sure to remind the host that the memory of that fateful day in February 2018 was still fresh on his mind: “You assume I’m over it. Come on now! There’s a lot of mental scar tissue from that year. That was a tough game,” said Brady when the topic came up.“In a lot of ways I think we learned from that year and we came back stronger the next year and we won the Super Bowl [in 2018],” continued the 42-year-old.”I think everything is a matter of perspective. I think when you play in that game and you play great teams, you’re not going to win them all. This is not the Harlem Globetrotters versus the Washington Generals. This is all about tough competition against the best teams.”Brady, of course, knows what he is talking about. The future Hall of Famer Youth N'Keal Harry Jersey , who is trying to lead his team to a record-tying fourth straight title game appearance this year, has played in nine Super Bowls over the course of his legendary career and had to leave the field a loser on three of those occasions. And while he does own more championship rings than any other quarterback, the losses are apparently still serving as a motivational tool.“They deserved it that year, and now a couple years later, we get a chance to play the organization again. We’ve had a lot changes, they’ve had a lot of changes — it’s totally different circumstances. Huge game for us. Big game for them. The better team is going to win Color Rush N'Keal Harry Jersey ,” said Brady. “We’ve got to get ready for a great week of preparation and then get ready to go in the there and play our best game of the season, on the road, in a really tough environment.”“It should be a great Sunday afternoon for football,” he continued. The game against Philadelphia does not just give the Patriots a small change at revenge, it also is an opportunity for the Patriots to start well into the second half of their season — one that will be kicked off by four straight games against playoff-caliber teams like the Eagles.
week than they managed in their season-opening 10-3 win over the Bears and one component to that is how quickly they’re able to get plays in from the sideline.Quarterback Aaron Rodgers said earlier this week that the team has made “some subtle changes to hopefully help with some of that tempo” and one of the changes may have been revealed on Friday. Rodgers wore a wristband play sheet designed to help communicate play calls faster than they came in Week One.Many quarterbacks wear such accessories Authentic George Asafo-Adjei Jersey , but Rodgers hasn’t worn them in the past. Head coach Matt LaFleur didn’t say if Rodgers will wear the wristband during the game against the Vikings this weekend, but did say that the device has been helpful to him.“It gets [the play] out of my mouth a lot faster, I’ll tell you that much,” LaFleur said George Asafo-Adjei Jersey Boys , via ESPN.com. “So yeah, maybe it helps me get him the play a little bit quicker.”Rodgers’s immersion into LaFleur’s offense was a big offseason storyline and it’s clear that the process didn’t end just because the regular season got underway. Giants coach Pat Shurmur doesn’t want to hear about a quarterback controversy. After rookie Daniel Jones put on a show in Thursday night’s preseason opener, Shurmur was asked what he would say to fans who think it’s time for Jones to replace Eli Manning.“I think, ‘Slow your roll Infant George Asafo-Adjei Jersey ,’” Shurmur said.Manning went three-and-out on his only series, while Jones went 5-for-5 including a touchdown pass on his only series. Shurmur said it’s too soon to anoint Jones.“This is just his first go around,” Shurmur said of Jones. “I think he did a good job. As I mentioned, all along he has done nothing to disappoint us George Asafo-Adjei Jersey Draft , and certainly when you take the team down the field and score a touchdown, that’s a good start. It’s something good to build on. We have a lot of time left before we start playing games. Nothing at this point has changed.”Shurmur said Jones made some mistakes that the coaching staff noticed but fans and the media wouldn’t.“He didn’t motion the tight end across on the first play,” Shurmur said. “Those types of things. Things that we see. As I mentioned, to the naked eye George Asafo-Adjei NFL Jersey , you possibly didn’t see.”One preseason game is too soon to make any proclamations, but suffice to say that if Jones and Manning look in the next two preseason games like they looked in the first one, it’s going to be awfully hard for Shurmur to slow down fans’ desire to move on from Manning and see Jones as the Week One starter.
ORCHARD PARK Youth Jim Kelly Jerseys , N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills have signed quarterback Matt Barkley to a two-year contract extension, securing what’s been an unsettled backup spot behind rookie Josh Allen. The signing announced Friday is a reflection of how Barkley performed in winning his one start this season and his role in helping mentor Allen. Coach Sean McDermott this week lauded Barkley for his support of Allen. On the field, Barkley went 15 of 25 for 232 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-10 win over the New York Jets on Nov. 11. Barkley was Buffalo’s third starter in three consecutive games, with Allen missing four games with a sprained right throwing elbow.Buffalo had signed Barkley only 10 days earlier after veteran backup Derek Anderson sustained a concussion. The 28-year-old is completing his sixth NFL season since Philadelphia drafted him in the fourth round in 2013 draft out of Southern California.Barkley has a 2-5 career record. He spent this offseason with Cincinnati before being cut by the Bengals in September after hurting his knee in a preseason game. Trent Murphy acknowledges he was fooling himself for scoffing at how long doctors and friends projected it would take to recuperate from a severe left knee injury.Though the Buffalo Bills defensive end learned he doesn't possess super-human healing powers, Murphy says the challenges and setbacks he experienced attempting to cut his rehabilitation from 18 months to 12 upon signing with the Bills a year ago were worth it."A lot of people gave me that feedback, players who have been through it called me and said, 'Man take it easy. Take it easy,'" Murphy said, recalling the advice he received shortly after tearing both knee ligaments in a preseason game with Washington in August 2017."Yeah, that wasn't an option for me. I'm not waiting to get better next year. It was today, today. Now," he added. "It was tough for sure, but I'm happy I fought through it."On the brighter side Jim Kelly Jerseys Stitched , next year has finally arrived. The muscle pulls, groin strains and various tweaks — byproducts of Murphy compensating for his surgically repaired knee — that limited his practice and playing time last season are in the past. Upon completing a voluntary practice session this week, Murphy happily declared himself as injury-free."To be able to contrast that process and be where I'm at now, I've got a different attitude, I'm a different dude, I feel way better," the 28-year-old said. "It's like night and day."And that puts Murphy in position to finally begin proving the career-best numbers he posted in 2016, his third NFL season, weren't a fluke.Selected by Washington in the second round of the 2014 draft out of Stanford, Murphy combined for six sacks, 16 quarterback hits and six tackles for loss in 31 games over his first two seasons. His production made a significant jump in 2016, when he had nine sacks, 24 quarterback hits and 10 tackles for loss in 16 games.Rather than get an opportunity to build on those numbers Youth O. J. Simpson Jerseys , Murphy's career was sidetracked with a season-ending injury while also entering the final year of his contract. The Bills thought enough of Murphy by signing him to a three-year, $21 million contract.Playing through the pain, and despite missing a majority of the offseason, Murphy was still able to put up respectable numbers: four sacks, nine quarterback hits and five tackles for loss in 13 games, including 10 starts. And yet, the ever-driven Murphy — he drove through a snowstorm to get to Buffalo to sign his contract — knows he could've done better."Every time I walked off the field, I know there was more I could've done," he said. The Bills weren't disappointed in his production by having already factored in the time Murphy would require to bounce back from such a devastating injury."Oh, absolutely," defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier said. "Coming off that type of injury that he had, it takes time not only from a physical standpoint, but mental O. J. Simpson Jerseys Stitched , where you gain the confidence to be able to do some of the things you did before."And Frazier sees the payoff by noting a new jump in Murphy's step this spring."We're seeing the fruits of that because he works extremely hard," Frazier said. "He's a different-looking player today than he was a year ago at this time."The plan is no different from last year, with Murphy pegged to start on the left side opposite Jerry Hughes. Buffalo is also hoping to improve its pass rush season with first-round draft pick defensive tackle Ed Oliver, taking over for the since-retired Kyle Williams.Led by Hughes' seven sacks, Buffalo finished with 36 to rank 26th overall.Murphy said he began feeling like his old self once he began working out this offseason."I had a couple of wounds to lick, and after I had a little down time, I was like, 'All right. You know what, I got this,'" Murphy said. "The fact that there's that much left in the tank, I'm as motivated as ever."
season approaches are posed as a question. For most of those questions Muhammad Wilkerson Jersey , we don’t the answer. On storyline No. 6, we do.The question is how will the Packers resolve the conflict between coach Matt LaFleur’s rigid offensive play-selection process and quarterback Aaron Rodgers‘ admitted desire for freedom at the line of scrimmage? The answer is this: Rodgers will win. He’ll win because he’s the face of the franchise, the most powerful and most highly-paid employee of a public corporation who won’t be punished or benched or traded or cut if he does whatever he wants, whenever he wants. It’s that simple. And Rodgers is smart enough to realize it. So the question is whether the Packers will let Rodgers do whatever he wants to do, or whether he’ll just do it.The best play for LaFleur and Rodgers will be to come up with a way for the first-year coach to save face, with LaFleur deciding that he’ll make an exception for Rodgers as to a system that results in two plays being called in the huddle and the quarterback deciding, based on a predetermined set of parameters, which one to call. LaFleur either can say that he has decided to let Rodgers call whatever play he wants to call at the line of scrimmage, or Rodgers can just do it. Which he will, regardless of whether the team lets him.Really, what will the Packers do? Roll with DeShone Kizer?Rodgers is the guy, he knows he’s the guy, and the sooner the coach lets Rodgers fully be the guy the sooner this issue will be settled, once and for all. The Packers have shown more overt interest in offensive tackles than any other position in the draft by a mile. If they’re poised to take someone early, they’re likely looking for a long-term answer at right tackle."Two cornerbacks Marcedes Lewis Jersey , three wide receivers, and a future first round pick — Brian Gutekunst’s first draft as general manager of the Green Bay Packers provided gobs of sizzle. In 2019, he may be looking for the steak. With ‘pass rushers’ checked off the grocery list, the top of the Packers draft board likely looks very unsexy. That’s not a shot at 300-pound offensive linemen; after all, we don’t condone body shaming at Acme Packing Company. But an offensive tackle at 12 or 30, especially with a pass rusher like Brian Burns or a linebacker like Devin Bush still on the board, could send Cheesehead Nation into a tailspin. If you nodded your head while reading that sentence, prepare your body. It’s coming. Green Bay has spent much of the offseason investigating, studying, and talking to top offensive line talent. It looks very much like Gutekunst has his sights set on a blue chip offensive line upgrade with top draft capital. The straightforward case for using a premium asset on an offensive linemen who probably won’t play in 2019 rests on two main tenets: nothing is more important than protecting Aaron Rodgers, and there isn’t an obvious plan at right tackle beyond 2019. This draft class, with a slew of offensive tackles who could also play guard, provides a unique opportunity for the Packers to pick a top player with the idea of grooming him for a long-term role. When Bryan Bulaga stays on the field, he’s one of the best right tackles in football and an elite pass blocker. He’s also not under contract beyond 2019 and isn’t reliable enough staying on the field. There’s a case to be made that 12-14 games of Bulaga is better than 16 games of most offensive tackles in the league—ask the Giants about Ereck Flowers—but if Green Bay is looking for a long-term solution for Bulaga, he may be waiting in this draft. Ted Thompson moved on from Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang a year too early Lance Kendricks Jersey , but then their bodies broke down, culminating in each retiring this offseason. Bulaga’s body isn’t fully broken yet, but the creaks can be heard from Wisconsin Rapids. Drafting someone in this draft to replace him in a year would give that player the opportunity to learn for a year behind one of the best guys at his position, while also acclimatizing to Matt LaFleur’s offense and life in the NFL. Don’t underestimate the value of the latter point. The Year 2 leap exists because the transition for college players at any position remains difficult despite the burgeoning schematic overlap. A full year in the NFL with a full-time offseason provides the best opportunity to take a major jump forward developmentally. Offensive linemen struggle even more in the modern NFL because the CBA reduced the padded practices and total practices, making the adjustment from the college to pro game much more cumbersome. Getting that year in this offense, and in all likelihood having the chance to play a game or two when Bulaga inevitably gets hurt, insulates the Packers against that development curve. The list of players the Packers have interviewed tells the story. Jawaan Taylor, Dalton Risner, Jonah Williams, Andre Dillard, Kaleb McGary, Greg Little, Chuma Edoga, and Tytus Howard all project to go in the top two rounds. Throw in some Day 3 tackles Green Bay has kept an eye on and the message is clear: they want a premium offensive line upgrade. They’ve shown more interest in offensive tackles than any other position, which Davon House Jersey , on its own, may not be surprising. Ted Thompson never drafted guards; he selected tackles who moved to guard. And he did so with sagacious efficiency. He also took Derek Sherrod and Bryan Bulaga in the first round, players who didn’t fit the typical athletic model they preferred when picking offensive linemen. If Brian Gutekunst is his football father’s son, so to speak, it’s not out of the question that the Packers would be willing to look outside their tendencies with athletic profile to pick a player they think can anchor their offensive line. That brings together an interesting question: with so many of the above players capable, or perhaps even better suited inside, is it the case they’re definitely looking at a right tackle of the future? Billy Turner’s contract would make much more sense if the’s a short-term answer at right guard and the perceived long-term answer at right tackle. The positional versatility of so many of the tackles in this draft allow Green Bay to pick one and figure out where he fits best later, opening up the opportunities for players who might not otherwise be great options. Alabama’s Jonah Williams, for example, doesn’t fit the athletic profile Green Bay generally prefers, but has drawn comparisons to Bulaga already and looks like he could be a solid right tackle. Some evaluators see a Pro Bowl guard. The ability to play both should appeal to the Packers, who brought Williams in this week for a visit. Risner, McGary, Taylor, and Little could fit the same kind of bill Dean Lowry Jersey , particularly as the first three played right tackle in college. Players like Dillard and Edoga probably have to play tackle only given where they are in their development curve.Still, the interest in offensive tackle, whether they play inside or outside, portends the end of Bulaga’s tenure in Green Bay. Turner may be the future, or it could be one of these top offensive line prospects. If Gutekunst does go that route, using a high pick on an offensive lineman, he’ll show his cards when it comes to Bulaga’s future. Considering nothing is more important than protecting Aaron Rodgers, using such high draft capital on an offensive lineman, even to go outside their preferred physical norms, serves as smart team building. It may not be the sexy pick at 12, but it is the prudent one. Signing Billy Turner gives the Packers even more flexibility to take a player whose best position may be inside but could still play outside effectively. By May, there’s a very good chance we’ll know who the right side of the Packers offensive line will be for the next few years. We just may not know yet who is playing where. Luckily for Aaron Rodgers, that plan probably no longer involves Jason Spriggs.
were already in the kind of happy-go-lucky mood that comes with a modest holiday shopping spree when they lined up to take a picture. Some were laughing. All of them were smiling. Then their idol stepped out from his hiding place and the screaming started.Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had taken time out of his day off Tuesday to show up at Dick’s Sporting Goods and surprise the kids from KC United. He took photographs Garrett Bradbury Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , signed autographs and presented the team’s founder, local pastor Adrian Roberson, with $5,000 to fund next season.“I have no words for it,” said Roberson, who broke into tears.Mahomes was appearing at Dick’s event for Sports Matter, a program to help underfunded youth sports programs. Sports Matter has helped more than 1 million young athletes across the country, and Dick’s has committed $50 million to giving back to youth sports.Mahomes is arguably the hottest player in the NFL this season, his record-setting performance as a first-year starter helping the Chiefs to a 9-2 record. And not surprisingly, that has caused the demands on his time to skyrocket, from the unending interview requests to meet-and-greets and other events.Somehow, the 23-year-old quarterback has managed to take everything in stride.“I don’t know if it does something for me. It’s just part of being in this community,” Mahomes said the following day, before stepping onto the practice field to prepare for Sunday’s trip to Oakland.“This community loves football and they love each other,” Mahomes continued. “It’s more than just football. It’s being a good person and giving back to the community.”Mahomes has certainly ingrained himself in the community. He threw out a first pitch at a Royals game over the summer. He was the grand marshal for the NASCAR race, wearing a cutoff jersey from the T-Bones, the local minor league baseball team. He pops up at stores, concerts and restaurants as if he was anybody else, even sitting front row at Sprint Center last week to watch his college, Texas Tech, play in the Hall of Fame Classic basketball tournament. When he showed up at a Verizon store on Monday for a meet-and-greet, store officials were worried the crowd would be too large and asked that his appearance not be publicized. Several hundred people still found out, forming a line that snaked around the building as they awaited his arrival.“I feel the excitement and I feel the love not only for me but for the Kansas City Chiefs,” Mahomes said. “It’s special. This is a special place. There’s great people here. That’s one of the main reasons I love playing for this team.”VON’S KITSVon Miller is leading a $200,000 initiative to provide protective kits to first responders in mass shootings and improve local law enforcement relations. The donation from Miller, his teammates and the organization to SHIELD616 Minnesota Vikings Jerseys 2019 , a Colorado Springs-based nonprofit organization, will provide more than 125 advanced protective kits for police and firefighters responding to active shooter or mass shooting situations.“It’s been 300 mass shootings this year, and I’ve only heard about four. When I was hit with that information, it really hit home for me,” Miller said. “I’ve got personal ties with Colorado — of course, we had the shooting here at the theater my second year in the league — and really heavy ties in Dallas. It was what, two years ago that we had the shooting there.”Miller said his best friend is a police officer in Arlington, Texas, “so I can help him and some of his colleagues with some of these vests. It’s a real cool deal, the 616 initiative.”Miller spoke up at a team meeting last week to get his teammates on board with the initiative, and nearly 20 players pitched in, as did team president Joe Ellis, general manager John Elway, and coach Vance Joseph.SHIELD616 kits include a ballistic vest and helmet, along with a wound trauma kit, that upgrade standard equipment to protect against automatic weapons and assault rifles. The initiative also allows for donors to contact the first responders they are helping protect to foster ongoing relationships, the Broncos said.“It takes the unification of an entire community to not only better protect our first responders with physical armor, but to break down barriers between first responders and the citizens they serve,” said SHIELD616 President Jake Skifstad, a former police officer who founded the organization in 2015.“It’s priceless to see complete strangers invest in the safety of first responders, changing their lives and the lives of their families,” Skifstad said. “We are humbled and proud to see that Von Miller, his teammates and the Broncos are utilizing their God-given leadership gifts and influence to not only better protect our protectors, but to also help build positive community relations.”Joseph said he was proud of Miller for leading the initiative.“Von is a special person. He wants to help people,” Joseph said. “He’s a great teammate and he’s great in the community. This is huge for Von to provide resources for our first responders. Obviously there have been a number of shootings in our country. It’s a huge issue.”DAK THE DUCKLINGDak Prescott’s first game with Drew Brees on the other sideline was a chance for the 2016 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year to reflect on the Pro Bowl trip they shared during that magical year for the Dallas quarterback.Prescott had just led the Cowboys to an NFC-best 13 wins, while Brees got his 10th Pro Bowl nod following his record fifth 5 Garrett Bradbury Jersey Cheap ,000-yard season. New Orleans had missed the playoffs for the third straight year, all 7-9 finishes. Prescott, who grew up in Louisiana, wasn’t thinking about those Saints records. He was thinking about Brees’ records.“You do everything you can,” Prescott said when asked if he picked Brees’ brain during those few days together. “Like a little duckling. You just follow Drew Brees and just figure out what he does, how he does stuff. I was thankful to have him. Drew opened up and he shared some things.”Prescott also noticed how Brees responded to those three straight losing seasons. With the 39-year-old having one of his best seasons in 2018, the Saints are on the verge of their second straight trip to the playoffs after winning 11 games last season.“He’s taking care of his body, has done all the right things,” Prescott said. “Especially facing adversity, facing the middle of his career and some people were saying he wouldn’t do what he has done now. It just speaks to the character of that guy.”HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?The Minnesota Vikings have been at the forefront of the creativity around the league since the celebration rules were relaxed last season to allow for more group play in the end zone.In a game at Chicago last year, the Vikings initiated a game of “Duck, Duck, Goose” (or “Duck, Duck, Gray Duck,” as it’s called in Minnesota) after a touchdown reception by Kyle Rudolph. In their game against Green Bay last weekend, Dalvin Cook’s catch, run and score prompted the assembly of a purple-colored limbo line.Cook exuberantly motioned his teammates over, as offensive linemen Tom Compton and Rashod Hill stood facing each other and wide receiver Adam Thielen was hoisted in the air to serve as the bar. Cook, wide receiver Stefon Diggs and offensive lineman Brian O’Neill each strutted through, with their backs bent backward to try to slide underneath Thielen without touching him.“It was supposed to be the lightest guy on the field. Diggs was supposed to be up there, but Dalvin really wanted to do it, so I jumped up,” Thielen said.Said Cook: “I knew Diggs needed to be the one that comes behind me, because he’s more of the dancer.”Quarterback Kirk Cousins was impressed, though not enough to find a place in line.“When I heard they were going to do it I thought Garrett Bradbury Jersey Womens , ‘That one is going to be a tough one to pull together in 10 seconds,'” Cousins said. “But they did it. It was pretty good.”GETTING THEATRICALMiami Dolphins defensive end Andre Branch says he’s going to start flopping to draw the attention of officials when he’s held.“I saw J.J. Watt fall over, so I’m going to start doing that,” Branch said. “It’s time for me. I’m pulling out the Vlade Divac.”His latest source of frustration: Colts left tackle Anthony Castonzo wasn’t called for holding Branch on a key play late in the Colts comeback win over the Dolphins last week. The video replay was tough to swallow, Branch said.“I jumped and I got pulled back,” he said. “That was the play of the game.”ALLIANCE QBSSome pro football washouts as quarterbacks might have another avenue back to the NFL: They now have teams in the Alliance of American Football. The Alliance, with eight teams that will begin play the week after the Super Bowl, conducted a four-round draft of only quarterbacks. Josh Johnson, who has made many stops in the NFL, was the top selection, by San Diego.Other players who have been on NFL rosters, whether in the regular season or preseason, were selected or protected by their regional franchise and will head to a league training camp in early January. Among those were Aaron Murray and Matt Simms by the Atlanta Legends; Garrett Gilbert and Stephen Morris by the Orlando Apollos; B.J. The games are going to air on a number of different channels, as well as online, and they’re even going to be broadcast on SiriusXM satellite radio. It certainly seems like the league is off to a nice start.Since we’d like to see an alternative football league succeed, we’re going to be adopting a team as “our team” for this inaugural season. (That and we can only do so many mock drafts. . .oh, man, we can only do so many mock drafts.) If there was a team with any sort of geographic proximity to Minnesota, this would be a relatively easy task for a Vikings site like ours. However Garrett Bradbury white jersey , there really isn’t. . .the closest team might be in Memphis, though I haven’t busted out Google Maps or anything to confirm that. So, since we’re going to be covering this on a site that all of you enjoy reading, we wanted to give you all a say on which team would be the Daily Norseman’s team of choice for the first season of the AAF.Let’s do a quick rundown of all the teams, as well as players on those teams that have at least some connection to the Minnesota Vikings. Granted, that might not be the only reason that we pick a particular squad, but it might be a factor for some.Arizona Hotshots - RB Jhurell Pressley, DT Will Sutton, DT Chunky Clements, LB Edmond Robinson, P Jeff LockeAtlanta Legends - QB Peter Pujals, LB Brandon Watts, LS Jeff OverbaughBirmingham Iron - DB Jack TochoMemphis Express - None that I could seeOrlando Apollos - WR Charles Johnson, OL Marquis LucasSalt Lake Stallions - RB Matt Asiata, RB Terrell Newby, WR Jordan Leslie, TE Nick TruesdellSan Antonio Commanders - LB Shaan Washington (also former Gophers’ RB David Cobb)San Diego Fleet - OL Chris Gonzalez, DB Kendall JamesI’m pretty sure that covers just about everyone. Some of these guys were practice squad only or didn’t make it out of Training Camp, but hey, a connection is a connection. We’ll be doing stuff about the AAF as a whole, but we’d like to have one team to sort of pay a little more attention to this season. So, let us know which team that should be! We’ll stop the poll on Saturday at 2 PM Central so that it’s complete before the games kick off on Saturday.
Good morning Womens Lac Edwards Jersey , GGN! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. Sam Darnold seems to be getting over his bout with Mono at an extraordinarily quick pace, which is good news for the team after a putrid 0-2 start to the season. The doctors that have been working with Sam have pinned him to be able to come back for week 5 against the Eagles if all goes well. Hopefully for the team, that is the case. Regardless if Sam can ‘save’ the season or not, it’s important to see what type of development we get from the young QB. Week 1 didn’t look exactly great, but if he was dealing with Mono then it should be taken with a grain of salt. We’ll find out more as time goes on, but hopefully we get Sam back soon. Jordan Leggett remembers the sudden buzz on the sideline and in the stands as cellphones lit up with texts delivering the scary news.A young player from a rival high school football squad in Florida had been seriously injured during a game and he might not make it."Everybody on the team where I was from was like, 'Oh, man, he must've just got like a big hit,'" the New York Jets tight end recalled. "We heard later that he passed away http://www.jetslockerroom.com/authentic-sam-darnold-jersey , so it was kind of a big deal."Taylor Haugen was only 15 on Aug. 30, 2008, when he went out across the middle of the field for a pass, reached up and grabbed the football 鈥?and was immediately slammed into by two defenders, one to the front of his body and the other to his back. The impact to Haugen's abdominal area ruptured his liver and the Niceville High School wide receiver was rushed to the hospital, where he died a few hours later."The surgeons who worked on my child all night said it looked like a car crash," Kathy Haugen said in a telephone interview.Leggett, who was a wide receiver for nearby Navarre High School in the Florida Panhandle, had never met Haugen, but was shaken by his stunning death. Ten years later, Leggett is honoring his memory with his "Touchdowns For Taylor" campaign, working with Haugen's parents and the Taylor Haugen Foundation to raise awareness about abdominal injuries in youth football and trying to educate parents, players and coaches about how to better prevent them.Shortly after Leggett was drafted by New York in the fifth round out of Clemson last year, his agents asked if he was interested in supporting any charities. Leggett talked to someone from back home, and they mentioned the Taylor Haugen Foundation."It just brought back all those memories from back in high school because I was there (in Florida) when it happened," Leggett said. "So, it was just something I wanted to be a part of."The 23-year-old Leggett started the "Touchdowns For Taylor" charity campaign last season through the sports fundraising platform Pledge It, with donors contributing money for every touchdown catch by the Jets this season."We've never been Jets fans in our entire lives," Brian Haugen said with a big laugh Tarell Basham Jersey , "but we find ourselves rooting for the Jets to score touchdowns."New York has 11 TD catches so far, with Leggett contributing to the total with the first of his NFL career in Week 4 at Jacksonville."Last year, I didn't get to play at all and my soon-to-be mother-in-law actually thought it would be cool to donate as much as my jersey number, so with 86, she'll donate $86 per touchdown," said a smiling Leggett, who missed last season with a knee injury. "We had a lot of touchdowns last year and she thought it was specifically just for my touchdowns, so it was kind of funny because she was the biggest donor."Leggett and Haugen's parents met for the first time in July in Florida, where they were able to chat about life in the NFL, high school rivalries, chilly Northeast weather 鈥?and, most of all, Taylor, and their combined mission."He's just a great kid," Kathy Haugen said of Leggett. "He's a wonderful person and we're really honored that he wanted to do something to give back to his community and chose the foundation and our son's legacy to do it."Added Brian Haugen: "He's a sweet soul."They are all fiercely driven by the same goal: spreading the word that abdominal injuries are potentially life-threatening to anyone playing football. And there are ways of offering better protection."If you think about football, and I think this is the story that people don't get is with the chop-block rules and helmet-to-helmet contact, where are they going to hit?" Brian Haugen said. "The torso is now the target."The Haugens have spent the last 10 years doing all they can to educate by speaking at conferences and workshops around the country and collaborating with medical experts and others in the college and NFL communities to learn more."The problem that needs to be fixed is, how do we avoid abdominal injuries, or at least try to better protect against them?" Brian Haugen said. "People say Womens Rashard Robinson Jersey , 'Wow, that never happens.' No, dude, you don't get it. Kathy gets phone calls almost daily from parents across the country who see this thing that 'never happens.'"It happens all the time."One of the most frustrating aspects for the Haugens is that statistics on abdominal injuries and deaths from football-related hits at the high school level are largely incomplete or inaccurate. It's also a big reason the Haugens started the foundation bearing the name of their only child. They are pushing for consistent injury tracking and lobbying for better protection standards at the youth sports level."Logic would say that if you're going to protect the organ on top of your shoulders," Kathy Haugen said, "you would protect the organs within the middle of your body."The Haugens support a product called the EvoShield shirt, which provides padded protection to the abdominal region and is worn by players at every level of the sport, including the NFL. They also started the Youth Equipment for Sports Safety (YESS) program to educate athletes and provide them with equipment to protect against abdominal injuries. They have also developed a six-part "Pledge To Protect," which includes a goal of making sure that by 2028 everyone playing youth football throughout the United States is wearing abdominal protection equipment as an essential part of their sports gear."It's being aware that this is an injury that takes place, that there are steps as a parent you can take to make sure that your child is better protected," Kathy Haugen said. "Ask questions and ask your coaches 鈥?be engaged. You are your child's best advocate when it comes to safety."The Haugens say they still wouldn't have prevented their son from playing the game he loved. But they stress they are educated now about the type of injuries that Taylor suffered 鈥?and they would know now how to better keep him safe. And they, along with Leggett and their many supporters, want other families to learn how to protect their kids 鈥?and never experience the loss they did."I think it's always a terrible situation when parents have to bury their children," Leggett said. "But they took the terrible thing that happened to their son and they're trying to make it better for other families who have kids who are playing the sport of football, and they're trying to make it better for everybody else."I mean, they're extremely strong for what they do and it's good to see."Online: Touchdowns For Taylor: s://pledgeit.org/touchdowns-for-taylor-2018 and the Taylor Haugen Foundation: s://taylorhaugen.org/
possessions and traded punts on their second and before the Steelers have found their way back to the end zone.Ben Roethlisberger hit Antonio Brown for a 17-yard touchdown pass three minutes into the second quarter to give Pittsburgh a 14-7 lead at Heinz Field. The touchdown came one play after a pass interference penalty that few in New England are likely to praise as a good call. Cornerback Jonathan Jones was running with Steelers wide receiver Eli Rogers on the sideline when the ball fell incomplete and the contact that drew a flag didn’t appear to be particularly egregious. It was judged to be enough for a flag N'Keal Harry NFL Draft , however, and now the Patriots are up for their chance to keep the pattern going in the first half. “I’m not going to sit here and try to Ouija board it this morning,” Bill Belichick said during his Friday press conference. But the status of New England Patriots wide receivers Mohamed Sanu and Phillip Dorsett became slightly more definitive in the afternoon. Sanu, who hadn’t participated in the initial two practices of the week due to an ankle injury, returned as limited for the third. And Dorsett, who suffered a concussion in New England’s Week 11 win over Philadelphia Eagles Color Rush Jarrett Stidham Jersey , got in a second-straight limited session. They are among a dozen Patriots listed as questionable to play Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. Here’s the final injury report for the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium.OUTPatriots: no players listedCowboys: LB Leighton Vander Esch (neck)It remains up in the air for the Patriots at wideout, but the aforementioned Sanu and Dorsett avoided being ruled out for now. Rookies N’Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers could see an uptick in snaps even so.Vander Esch did not appear on the Cowboys’ injury report until Friday. The reigning Pro Bowl linebacker underwent an MRI after experiencing symptoms in practice the day prior. A neck injury had also sidelined Vander Esch for Dallas’ Nov. 4 matchup with the New York Giants.QUESTIONABLEPatriots: QB Tom Brady (right elbow), RB Damien Harris (hamstring), WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle), WR Phillip Dorsett (concussion), WR Julian Edelman (shoulder) Youth Jarrett Stidham Jersey , WR Matthew Slater (hamstring), OT Marcus Cannon (illness), DE John Simon (elbow), LB Ja’Whaun Bentley (knee), CB Jason McCourty (groin), S Patrick Chung (heel/chest) Womens Jarrett Stidham Jersey , S Nate Ebner (ankle/back) Cowboys: G Connor Williams (knee), LB Joe Thomas (illness), S Donovan Wilson (illness)It was a growing list of limited participants for the Patriots. Added to the injury report to close the work week were Brady, Slater, Cannon and McCourty. And all but Cannon were spotted by reporters during the open portion of Friday’s practice. New England’s tenured right tackle is battling an illness. For Dallas, three are questionable for Sunday’s meeting in Foxborough. Thomas and Wilson continued their illness-related absences from practice. As for Williams Authentic Jarrett Stidham Jersey , the second-year guard out of Texas continued to practice in a limited capacity. from the field — in reverse.Instead Youth Deandre Baker Jersey , they keep winning, and a new favorite has emerged for the top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. If the season ended today, the winless Bengals (0-9) would hold spot in next year’s selection order. Also, a lot of people would be saying: “Why did the NFL season end the Tuesday after Week 10?”Cincinnati responded to rookie quarterback Ryan Finley‘s first start by taking a crisp 49-13 loss to the Ravens, signaling that it was perhaps not all Andy Dalton‘s fault.Washington (1-8) currently sits in the second spot. After losing to their neighbors, the Giants (2-8) are in the third spot, with the Dolphins atop the group at 2-7 Womens Deandre Baker Jersey , ahead of the Jets and Falcons. The Browns (3-6), Buccaneers (3-6), Broncos (3-6), and Cardinals (3-6-1) round out the top 10.The Raiders fell out of the top 10 last week, as the Bears’ win over the Lions pushed Oakland’s traded-for pick to the 14th spot. On the surface, the Minnesota Vikings’ game against the New York Giants is a meeting of old friends. It’s the first time Vikings coach Mike Zimmer is going to face his former offensive coordinator since Pat Shurmur left to become the head coach of the Giants in 2018.There’s a lot at stake for both men, and their teams. The Vikings (2-2) are coming off a disappointing 16-6 loss to the NFC rival Chicago Bears in a game when their offense did little. The Giants (2-2) are riding a high since Shurmur benched Eli Manning and made rookie Daniel Jones the starting quarterback a little more than two weeks ago. They are looking for their first three-game winning streak since 2016 Authentic Deandre Baker Jersey , and this would be a win over a team with an outstanding defense. It might be the sign Jones and the Giants are turning things around.“They are a good unit, a good team,” Jones said the Vikings’ defense. “We’ll be prepared. I think when you look at them they are a strong front seven and they are good in the back end, too. I think we’ll be ready.”The No. 6 overall pick in the draft, Jones has given the Giants a new look with his ability to avoid the rush, extend plays and run when necessary. Since his taking over, New York is averaging 28 points and it has converted on 14 of 26 third-down chances. It had 31 points combined in the first two games and was 5 of 23 on third downs.“He’s got two wins Deandre Baker Jersey Boys ,” Vikings safety Harrison Smith said. “Kind of the escapability aspect to him, especially in that Tampa game. He’s got a big arm. He’s obviously a young guy, but he’s done some really good stuff for them.”Jones will need to do more to beat the Vikings.Five things to watch as the Vikings try to snap a five-game losing streak in outdoor stadiums:GROUNDED VIKINGSThe new scheme directed by offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski, whom Shurmur tried to bring with him to the Giants but was blocked by Zimmer, has helped the Vikings re-establish themselves as a productive running team. Dalvin Cook is 1 yard off the league rushing lead and the team has an NFL-high eight rushing touchdowns. The success hasn’t opened the passing game for Kirk Cousins. His 88.6 passer rating is 23rd in the league, while his 7.4-yard average per throw ranks 16th.TATE BACKGolden Tate III has returned to the Giants after serving a four-game suspension for PED use. The 10-year veteran, who signed in the offseason as a free agent Infant Deandre Baker Jersey , was expected to be the other half of a 1-2 punch at wide receiver with Sterling Shepard. Jones will have to find a way to integrate him into the offense. Tight end Evan Engram (27 catches for 331 yards and two TDs) and Shepard (20 catches for 218 and a TD) have carried the load.STOPPING THE RUNThe Giants come into the game ranked 19th against the run, and they are thin at inside linebacker. Rookie starter Ryan Connelly was lost for the season last week with a knee injury. Veteran Alec Ogletree missed last week with a hamstring injury, while fellow inside linebacker Tae Davis sat out with a concussion. David Mayo stepped in for Ogletree against Washington and had a career-high eight tackles. Minnesota is averaging 155.3 yards rushing, so expect the Vikings to exploit the Giants’ lack of depth behind their three-man front.THE BALL IS LOOSECousins leads the NFL with 46 fumbles since the beginning of the 2015 season, when he became a full-time starter. His six fumbles in the first four games are the most in the league. He had two last week at Chicago, losing one when Khalil Mack sacked him on the first play of the third quarter to set up a Bears field goal. Cousins has been struggling to find the right rhythm in terms of higher-risk, higher-reward decisions and playing it safe when the situation dictates it.The Giants have neither forced nor recovered a fumble in four games.JANORIS JENKINSThe veteran Giants cornerback has been inconsistent. Jenkins was torched by Mike Evans two weeks ago Deandre Baker Jersey Draft , when the Bucs receiver had eight catches for 190 yards and three touchdowns. Last week, he won NFC defensive player of the week honors for getting two of the Giants’ four interceptions against Washington, and tipping a ball that Connelly intercepted on the opening drive.AP Pro Football Writer Dave Campbell contributed to this report.
dooms rookie QB Josh Allen The Buffalo Bills lost their third preseason game of the season Authentic Vosean Joseph Jersey , dropping their record to 1-2 after a 26-13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. But that’s not the big story from the game, as rookie Josh Allen made his first start. It was not one to remember. Here are the takeaways from Sunday:Good Lord, offensive lineThe offensive line was brutal against the starters. They were called for penalties and allowed five sacks of Josh Allen and a couple more hits.Buffalo rotated the interior offensive line, with Ryan Groy playing two positions, Vlad Ducasse playing both right and left guard, and John Miller moving out of the lineup in the first three drives. Miller returned and was called for multiple fouls and allowed a sack.Passing offense in reverse under AllenLast week, the Bills starting offense got a shot in the arm when Allen came in after AJ McCarron couldn’t get anything moving. This week, Allen was under constant duress and even with his escapability Vosean Joseph Jersey Boys , he took five sacks and lost as many yards as he was able to pass for. Receivers dropped passes and didn’t fight for balls, and Allen even underthrew a pass. They were out of sync.Injuries opening doors for othersMarcus Murphy has definitely played his way onto the roster, and took several first-team reps alongside Chris Ivory as LeSean McCoy sat with a groin injury. At defensive end, Shaq Lawson once again showed up and did okay in relief of an injured Trent Murphy. Harrison Phillips was largely neutralized in place of Kyle Williams.Cornerback changesLast year, the Bills tended to keep the rookie Tre’Davious White and the other cornerback on specific sides of the field, but today against the stud A.J. Green, White shadowed the perennial Pro Bowler. It could be something they are planning on doing going forward. Even on the other side, Vontae Davis was benched for three series and replaced by Phillip Gaines. Davis allowed a 59-yard touchdown on the first play of the game.Colton Schmidt opened the punter competition doorThis week Infant Dawson Knox Jersey , the Bills added former Seattle Seahawks punter Jon Ryan. How did incumbent Colton Schmidt respond? By launching four bad punts under 40 yards. He eventually clobbered a 59-yarder and ended the day averaging 41 yards, but it wasn’t a great day. Ryan only punted once from the 41, and while he was able to drop it in the field of play at the one, the coverage team wasn’t able to keep it from going in the end zone. The match is not over yet.NotesThree different tight ends saw snaps on the first three offensive plays; Charles Clay, Nick O’Leary, and Jason Croom. Logan Thomas played most of the second half while Croom punched in a touchdown in the third quarter. Khari Lee was the notable odd man out.Lots and lots and lots of penalties. The Bills’ first-team defense was gashed through the air, which is a departure from last week when they were gashed on the ground. Two of the centerpieces of Buffalo’s 2019 free-agent class have been unavailable to the team, due to identical injuries.Coach Sean McDermott explained to reporters on Tuesday that center Mitch Morse and receiver Cole Beasley have been absent from offseason drills due to surgery to repair sports hernias.“They went through the core muscle deal with the groin area Dawson Knox Jersey Draft , went to Philadelphia and saw Dr. Myers and had the procedure this offseason,” McDermott said. “They are working back, they are hard at work and our training staff has done a nice job with them. They’ve worked hard and we will get them back as soon as we can here.”The conditions didn’t stop the Bills from committing significant dollars to both players. Morse became the highest-paid center in football via a four-year, $44.5 million deal. Beasley signed a four-year, $29 million contract. The Bills must have really wanted them, because the Bills are willing to wait for them during what it an important chunk of the overall planning for the season.“When you talk about availability, now when we’re not available, it’s not ideal Dawson Knox NFL Jersey ,” McDermott said regarding injury issues the team has been dealing with generally. “Is it going to stop us? No. We are going to continue to work and that’s where the trust I have, [G.M.] Brandon [Beane], myself, and our medical staff, that’s what they’re here for as well.”Recovery from sports-hernia surgery typically happens in fewer than two months, so both players should be ready to go for training camp. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Bills limit their participation in the remaining OTA and minicamp practices, given that they’ve missed so much of the offseason program to date.
With an open roster spot to fill Ozzie Newsome Jersey , the team subsequently added rookie offensive lineman Drew Forbes to the roster. While it was widely expected that the Browns would activate Forbes, who has spent the season on injured reserve, it comes as a bit of a surprise at first that it is at the expense of Callaway Briean Boddy-Calhoun Jersey , afourth-round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft. But then NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Callaway is currently appealing a 10-game suspension for another violation of the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Callaway had his hearing with the league in the last week and the suspension reportedly stems from a “tainted CBD product.”Callaway also late to another team function this week, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler:While general manager John Dorsey loves nothing more than a redemption story, having a player face another suspension was apparently enough for even Dorsey to realize it was time to call it quits.Callaway opened the season with a four-game suspension for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy and then was benched for last Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills for reportedly arriving late for the game. Between those two events he did little on the field as he had just eight receptions for 89 yards and has often struggled to line up correctly or run the proper routes. That wasn’t Callaway’s first brush of trouble this season Joe Schobert Color Rush Jersey , as he came to training camp this summer out of shape. The Browns drafted Callaway even after he was dismissed from the team at Florida for his involvement in a credit card fraud case and tested positive for marijuana at the NFL Scouting Combine.Callaway is the fourth player to be released or traded from Dorsey’s first draft class with the Browns, joining offensive lineman Austin Corbett (No. 33 overall), linebacker Genard Avery (No. 150) https://www.brownsfanshop.com/Ricardo-Louis-Jersey , and defensive back Simeon Thomas (No. 188). Browns coach Freddie Kitchens says Baker Mayfield is growing into the franchise quarterback and team leader role exactly as he’d hoped.Kitchens said at Cleveland’s minicamp today that Mayfield worked hard last year when he was a rookie thrust into the starting job during the season, and now he’s showing a renewed work ethic as the undisputed leader of the team.“Baker works his tail off in everything he does and it’s no different this year than it was last year,” Kitchens said. “I think he’s getting more decisive with his decisions that he’s making David Njoku Jersey , which is a good thing for a quarterback. You want quarterbacks to play as fast as possible and I think he’s getting to that point.”That’s exactly what the Browns need from Mayfield, whom the franchise is counting on to be the reliable franchise quarterback they have sought for decades.
his work as an offensive assistant Bryan Bulaga Jersey , but his record isn’t 1-0 because of the work done by his offense on Thursday night. The Packers defense held the Bears to 254 yards while sacking Mitchell Trubisky five times and intercepting him once in a 10-3 win at Soldier Field. The interception was made by safety Adrian Amos while Preston Smith had 1.5 sacks and Za'Darius Smith added another sack. All of those players were signed by General Manager Brian Gutekunst this offseason and LaFleur noted that activity while thanking the defense for bailing out an offense that was quiet outside of an impressive first half touchdown drive.“That defense was smothering,” LaFleur said, via Michael Silver of NFL Media. “It’s been awhile since a [Packers] defense came in saved the day. I’m so glad and thankful that Gutey invested in those guys. It was a great night for him J'Mon Moore Color Rush Jersey , and for [defensive coordinator] Mike Pettine and our defensive staff . . . and our players, of course.”The Packers now head to Green Bay for three straight games and will host five of the next six contests. They’ll hope the offense makes strides, but will do so with confidence that the defense can hold its own while that unit finds its footing. second-round pick cornerback Rock Ya-Sin and second-round pick wide receiver Parris Campbell have signed their rookie contracts. We have signed..." Colts NewsIndianapolis Colts Draft CentralColts sign Rock Ya-Sin and Parris Campbell to rookie dealsNew https://www.coltsfanshop.com/Andrew-Luck-Jersey ,2commentsEDTThe Indianapolis Colts announced Monday night that second-round pick cornerback Rock Ya-Sin and second-round pick wide receiver Parris Campbell have signed their rookie contracts. Ya-Sin and Campbell, taken with the 34th and 59th picks of the 2019 NFL Draft, respectively, become the eighth and ninth draft choices to sign their first professional contracts. Cornerback Marvin Tell III and safety Khari Willis signed their deals on May 13, while linebacker Ben Banogu, tackle Jackson Barton, defensive end Gerri Green, center Javon Patterson and linebacker E.J. Speed inked their deals on May 3. Third-round linebacker Bobby Okereke remains the only draft choice yet to have signed.Ya-Sin, the former state-champion wrestler, joins the Colts after 47 tackles and 12 pass deflections in 12 games with the Temple Owls this past season. On the other side of the ball, Campbell racked up 143 receptions and 1,978 yards from scrimmage in 43 games with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Both are expected to have immediate impacts at their respective positions and should help bolster some of the biggest positions-of-need heading into this offseason. There has been some debate on whether the Colts needed to add nose tackle in the off-season. I think they definitely should have." The Colts are now worryingly thin at 0-tech defensive tackles, specially after losing Al Woods in free-agency to the Seahawks, who signed him on a cheap one-year contract. I explored the option of Jihad Ward possibly transitioning to that position in a previous article. Ward scored an amazing 8.25 Disruptive Score, albeit on a very limited 165 snaps. The only true 0-tech left on the Colts roster is Grover Stewart, who has started just one game in his first two seasons. Looking at the 0-tech on the top teams, nearly all of them posted a score above Stewart’s 0.5 except for Bills’ DT Star Lotulelei, who was surrounded by top-tier talent on Buffalo’s defense T.J. Green Color Rush Jersey , and played right next to legend Kyle Williams. The conclusion from the chart is that in order to have a top defense in the NFL today, you need a guy that can disrupt opponents’ offenses from the inside. Gone are the days where the main job of the 0-tech was to eat up blocks in order to leave their teammates in better positions to make plays. Now, they also have to be able to make the play themselves. Guys like Eddie Goldman or Javon Hargrave were among the best in the league at generating pressure from the inside, and both the Steelers and the Bears were among the stingiest defenses. The NFL is clearly a pass-first league, so teams have to be able to generate pressure both from the edges and from the inside. Denico Autry and Margus Hunt, who will most likely play the 3-tech position (next to the 0-tech on the inside), were really good at getting to the opposing quarterback from the inside, racking up a combined 14 sacks. With new addition Justin Houston also drawing attention on the edge, the Colts pass-rushing capabilities look to be much better than the previous season. Still, the conclusion remains that if the Colts want to make the leap from good to great on defense then they will most likely need a 0-tech defensive tackle that can shed blocks and get into the backfield. The Colts had plenty of possibilities this off-season to address the lack of depth at the 0-tech position, but they haven’t advantage of any of them. They could have signed Darius Philon, who ended up with the Cardinals on a cheap 2-year https://www.coltsfanshop.com/Matthias-Farley-Jersey , $10 million contract, or perhaps Ndamukong Suh, who is still a free-agent. After not addressing the position in free-agency, the Colts had a good chance to do so in the Draft, as this class was very deep in defensive linemen. But, yet again, the Colts looked over the 0-tech position.I'm not second-guessing Chris Ballard, he has more than earned the benefit of the doubt, but the data indicates that top defenses included a 0-tech defensive tackle capable of generating negative plays and getting himself into the backfield. There is a difference of 1.4 in the Disruptive Score and now the Colts have only one true 0-tech left on the roster. It is clear that Matt Eberflus and Chris Ballard are focused more on speed and athleticism as they build a new Colts roster. This might result in a move away from more conventional sets, reducing the role of a 0-tech tackle. Still, the Colts definitely have room to improve at the position.
a question about possibly becoming the highest-paid player in league history Chris Carson Color Rush Jersey , Simms and I suggested that Wilson may have been sending the Seahawks a message. (Simms took the cynicism to the next level, wondering whether the question from Jimmy Fallon was planted by Wilson’s people.)Given the report that Wilson wants a new deal in place before the start of the offseason program on April 15, it’s seeming even more likely that Wilson was sending the team a message. And the full message is now clear: Make me the highest-paid player in league by April 15.That’s the only logical conclusion to the current situation. It’s not simply a contract that he wants; it’s a record contract. It’s a more-than-$33.5 million-per-year-in-new-money contract. The next question becomes what will Wilson do if he doesn’t get what he wants. I’ll address that in another post, one that also looks at what a new deal for Russell Wilson would look like, and why his expectation for a deal worth more than $33.5 million per year makes sense, in light of his alternative options. If you want to know more along those lines now, you can listen to Tuesday’s #PFTPM, during which I reacted in real time to the news of Wilson’s artificial deadline. SEATTLE (AP) — By the time December rolls around, the Seattle Seahawks may have more regret than they currently do about what transpired the first two weeks of the regular season.Because in hindsight, those first two games appear such outliers from where the Seahawks are headed based on the way they’ve played for the past month.“I’ll never not be frustrated by the way we started this season, but we’re moving George Fant Color Rush Jersey ,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. “This is kind of how we’ve done it over the years and we got a chance to be a really nice team.”The Seahawks sit at 3-3 going into their bye week, but a .500 record doesn’t fully tell the story of what Seattle has shown through six games. For two weeks, the Seahawks were lost in trying to discover their identity. No matter how much they said during the offseason they were committed to running the ball, relying on field position and defense, putting that mission statement into practice when the regular season began proved difficult. That’s why Seattle seemed so out of whack offensively during season-opening losses to Denver and Chicago. It was counter to everything Carroll and his staff preached leading into the opener. And it’s why a reset before Week 3 has proved the difference in putting the Seahawks in position to be part of the playoff conversation as the season progresses. The reset Seattle made offensively before facing Dallas in Week 3 involved two key aspects. The first happened on the offensive line. D.J. Fluker returned from injury and was slotted in at right guard, sliding veteran J.R. Sweezy over to left guard. The shuffling on the line instantly made Seattle a significantly better run-blocking team. Fluker has put together his own personal highlight tape of flattening defenders in recent weeks, while Sweezy’s demeanor and style is akin to the Seattle teams he played for several years ago when the Seahawks were making Super Bowls. The second came with Seattle’s stable of running backs. Rather than trying to be equitable, as the Seahawks were through the first two weeks, the decision was made to make Chris Carson the primary ball carrier. No more splitting carries just for the sake of doing so. Only when Carson needed a break would another back get the chance. The results for the past four games — when the Seahawks have gone 3-1 — have completely changed the course of Seattle’s season. In those four games combined, Seattle is one of three teams to have rushed for more than 600 yards, along with the Rams and Cowboys. The Seahawks’ 180 total rushing attempts are second only to the Rams. In the past four games Rashaad Penny Color Rush Jersey , Seattle has 142 rushes, the most of any team during that span. And the Seahawks are getting these yards with only limited contribution from Russell Wilson as a running threat a year after he was Seattle’s leading rusher. At a time the league is going wild with passing and scoring, the Seahawks are bucking the offensive trend in the other direction with a formula that appears to be working.“This is winning football,” Seattle wide receiver Doug Baldwin said. “You run the ball, you convert on third down in passing game when you have to. You play stifling defense and stopping the run, and you don’t turn the ball over. Usually you win the games when you do that.”The most telling stat comes from looking at Wilson’s numbers. In the first two games, he was sacked 12 times, completed just 59.4 percent of his throws and had a passer rating of 89.3. In the four games since, Wilson is completing 67 percent while attempting significantly fewer throws; has a passer rating of 116; and has been sacked seven times.Just as eye opening is his lack of runs: Wilson has just 17 rushes for 62 yards through six games. Last year, Wilson had already run 32 times.“Russell’s doing more than he’s ever done before. He’s orchestrating and controlling the play calling, the adjustments at the line of scrimmage when he can Doug Baldwin Color Rush Jersey ,” Carroll said. “He’s just been brought to a different level of responsibility and he’s doing a nice job with it. He’s putting us in position to run the ball effectively now as well as in the passing game, so he’s grown, yeah he’s improved.”Whether that formula is capable of keeping Seattle in the playoff race will be tested when it returns from the bye. The Seahawks face a challenging five-week stretch in which four of the five opponents have above-.500 records. Three of those games — at Detroit, vs. Green Bay, at Carolina — come against teams Seattle could end up competing against for a wild-card berth.“There’s a real style about it where we can sense now. It’s one week at a time, we just need to keep riding that and see how far it takes us,” Carroll said.
Lance Kendricks Jersey , that might be over after Friday’s testing. Meanwhile, the Packers show interest in Noah Fant, Irv Smith Jr. and the top tight ends in the class."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections The APC PodcastPackers Film RoomFantasy Football AdviceCSTShareTweetShareShare2019 NFL Scouting Combine Day 3: Top OL Jonah Williams scuffles, Packers meet with top TEsJonah Williams ran a good 40 time at the combine, but the rest of his testing didn’t meet the Packers’ usual standards for linemen. Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY SportsNo day underscores the hilarity of the basic premise of the NFL combine like the offensive line workouts, watching 300-pound men running around in spandex. While it’s true offensive linemen are rarely going to be running 40 yards down the field or doing the kinds of drills we see in Indianapolis, the movement skills of these dancing bears can be instructive. Who looks like an NFL athlete and who doesn’t? It’s not everything, but it’s not nothing either. Garrett Bradbury jumped out during the athletic testing, posting a 4.95 40 with a 1.74 10-yard split at nearly 6-foot-3 and 306 pounds. He also had one of the better verticals at 31 inches and stellar agility scores with a 4.53 shuttle time to go with a 7.41 3-cone. The North Carolina State lineman can play center or guard in the NFL and his movement skills in the drills emphasize what he shows on tape as a blocker in space. Though the Packers don’t generally draft interior college lineman, Bradbury might be the kind of athlete Green Bay makes an exception to get given how much the front office prizes athletic traits with offensive lineman. Questions about Alabama left tackle Jonah Williams’ arm length didn’t stop there. He ran 5.1 with a 1.77 split at 6-foot-4, 302 pounds which was the good. The bad was bad, with his agility times coming in well below where the Packers prefer with their offensive lineman. He did have one of the best lines of the combine so far so there’s that, but even for someone who might have to be a guard, it wasn’t a great showing. Williams, for his part, says he just wants the chance to compete, wherever it is.“I’ll play anywhere a team wants me to play but I was the best tackle in college football,” Williams said. His salty demeanor shows up on tape too. He’s a fighter. In the afternoon, the running backs took center stage, of particular interest to the Packers who have already met with some of the most intriguing names in the draft including Alabama’s Josh Jacobs, Stanford’s Bryce Love, and Memphis standout Darrell Henderson. Though running back isn’t a pressing need for the Packers Davon House Jersey , Matt LaFleur’s insistence on balance and sharing the backfield load could very well lead Brian Gutekunst to pick one of these guys in the middle rounds, much like 2017. Jacobs didn’t work out as the consensus RB1, but Green Bay would have to see him take a major tumble to go that route. That makes the workouts for some of the guys projected in the middle rounds more salient for them. Henderson followed a disappoint first 40 with a 4.49 time while FAU back Devin Singletary underwhelmed with a 4.66, though his best attribute is his ability to make guys miss. And while they didn’t work out, nearly every top-tier pass rusher came measured in above where they were projected from a size standpoint. Montez Sweat, at 6-foot-6, 260 pounds with a 7-foot wingspan looks like a 747, while Jachai Polite (258) and Brian Burns (249) added considerable weight to perform in Indianapolis. They haven’t tested out yet and those numbers will be important, but this impressive group cleared the first hurdle with no problems. Tight ends likewise didn’t work out, but a number of players mentioned meetings with the Packers including nearly every top-tier prospect. Noah Fant, Jace Sternberger and Irv Smith Jr. said they would meet with Green Bay. T.J. Hockenson was cagey in not mentioning any specific teams, but it would be easily to infer he’s in the mix as well. With the presence of Jimmy Graham, the Packers need a quality blocking tight end opposite him, preferably a player who can blossom into a more full-time pass catcher once Graham moves on. Matt LaFleur’s offense relies heavily on a solid run game and he’s been unequivocal about believing in sharing carries in the backfield. Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams present a more-than-solid 1-2 punch, but adding depth and variance of skillset makes sense for the Packers. Finding a back to add into the mix will be on the agenda for Gutekunst, as will picking through a deep group of offensive lineman to solidify the right guard spot. Pairing them with a dual-threat tight end rounds out the run-game rebuild. Friday will go a long way to shaking out who the Packers will be targeting come spring to complete just such an overhaul.Aaron Rodgers means Packers can afford not to take risks, not other way around The Green Bay Packers don’t have to take risks because they have Aaron Rodgers. It’s a sentence that can be read two ways. Some argue that the team should pay whatever it takes. That Time is running out. That because Aaron Rodgers will be gone soon anyway, the Packers have to do whatever it takes to win another Super Bowl now even if it means mortgaging the future. Instead and in order, no, no it isn’t, and no they don’t. In fact, the presence of Aaron Rodgers is precisely why Green Bay doesn’t have to undertake enormous capital investment with its roster.Ted Thompson went a little too far in the other direction when it came to team building Dean Lowry Jersey , forgetting free agency existed and relying too heavily on the draft to build his team. That left the Packers undermanned and underdeveloped when he finally saw the door. But in 2016, Rodgers engaged in a video game-like run to carry an undermanned and underdeveloped team to the brink of the Super Bowl. The Packers weren’t the best team in 2014, but nearly went to the Super Bowl anyway because of Rodgers’ brilliance. His mere presence, the fact he can win any game by himself, means Brian Gutekunst doesn’t need to give up his financial flexibility and unmatched draft capital for one player. Would Khalil Mack have made the Packers better? No question. He makes them the Super Bowl favorite. And that’s a goal worthy of seeking to be sure. But the Chicago Bears also gave Mack $141 million dollars, a sum that would have accounted for a quarter of the Packers cap with Aaron Rodgers’ new mega-deal. Ryan Pace also gave up three top 100 draft picks, including a pair of first-rounders, on a team that isn’t near able to compete for a Super Bowl title. Green Bay doesn’t need to take such enormous gambles. Mack certainly showed he’s capable of living up to that contract. He was the defensive player of the year just two seasons ago, playing so well he earned first-team All-Pro from the PFWA at two positions. Chicago is attempting to borrow the Rams’ model of maximizing their spending with a rookie quarterback salary on the books and it could work for them in a year or two when Trubisky may finally be ready to be an NFL quarterback (he was decidedly not last season). There’s no comparable move in recent NFL history, making it difficult to suss out the true risks and reward here, but plenty of Packers fans were clamoring around the draft for a trade up. Go get the impact pass rusher the team needed. Trade up for Denzel Ward, the top corner in the draft. Gutekunst did the opposite, choosing instead to wait patiently, fleece the New Orleans Saints, and wind up with three potential Day 1 starters on defense including the player Pro Football Focus said had one of the best preseasons in the NFL and who Peter King just picked to be DROY (Josh Jackson). Good process is good process regardless of the quarterback position, but it’s even better when Aaron Rodgers is the quarterback. The Packers can afford not to gamble because they don’t have to. They have Rodgers. None of that should suggest they shouldn’t attempt to make the roster better. They should. And Gutekunst has aggressively set about doing that, bringing in players like Jimmy Graham, Muhammad Wilkerson, Tramon Williams, Marcedes Lewis and Byron Bell to round out the roster and add veteran leadership to the team. It was those moves that separates Ted Thompson from “great GM” to “all-time great.”Rodgers increases the margin for error, but also mitigates the need for risk. Calculated risk, like making Graham the highest paid tight end in the league on a short-term deal Kentrell Brice Jersey , represents the Platonic ideal for moves in the Rodgers era. It’s how the Patriots have built a perennial Super Bowl team around Tom Brady. Bill Belichick traded for Randy Moss, but that only cost them a fourth-round pick. They traded for Brandin Cooks with a first, then promptly re-sold him for another first, a move they likely knew they could (and likely would) make. The reasons are obvious: the pass rush is the No. 1 position of need on this team in 2018, but what about 2019? Or 2020? Paying so much on long-term deals to two players with subverted future resources to make other positions better puts a team in a potentially precarious position. If Bryan Bulaga can’t stay healthy, would the Packers have the financial or draft capital to fix that problem? If none of these young receivers pan out, can Green Bay survive with Davante Adams and spare parts? Money and draft picks would make finding additional weapons much easier. It’s not that trading for Khalil Mack would have been a bad idea. And it’s not even a gamble in a football sense; he definitely makes the Packers better. But at what cost? The answer both in dollars and opportunity cost could have been enormous. If Gutekunst had done it and won the Packers a Super Bowl, most fans would have been OK with the move, and rightfully so. That doesn’t mean it wouldn’t have been a risk from a team building standpoint. Geronimo Allison, an undrafted player, comes up and catches a critical touchdown in a Week 17 game against the Lions in 2016 and wins the game against the Bengals in OT in 2017. When you have a field-tilter like Rodgers, moves on the margins push to the fore. Carrying Allison on the roster compared to signing a more expensive free agent was a risk, but one the Packers can take because they have No. 12. It’s a small one, but calculated and with little cost. Rodgers’ mere presence can take a small move and make it a big one.Trading up would have been a (smaller) risk, but it could have worked out. It’s hard to imagine working out better than what actually played out with Gutekunst ending up with a king’s ransom and young defenders who already look like impact players. Just because Rodgers is 34 (still the prime for a QB by the way) doesn’t mean Green Bay should start falling all over itself trying to win now at the cost of its future. That future, thanks to Gutekunst, still includes Rodgers for at least 6 seasons and presumably Gutekunst intends to be in the building even longer. The same desired outcome, a Super Bowl title, can be achieved with less risk because of the unique player Green Bay has under center. Ted Thompson understood that and built a team that was positioned to contend for years. They have. Whatever deficiencies he showed were in keeping with the premise that success could be achieved without enormous risk. That would be true even without the greatest quarterback to ever pick up a football, but having that player makes it even more apt. The Packers don’t have to take huge risks because they have Aaron Rodgers.
Reshard Cliett In paring their roster down to 53 players Garrett Bradbury Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , the Minnesota Vikings have parted ways with a linebacker that some. . .myself included. . .thought had done enough to make the final 53-man roster.Numerous sources are reporting that the Vikings will be parting ways with linebacker Reshard Cliett.Cliett was signed this offseason, and is the very definition of a journeyman, as the Vikings were his seventh NFL destination since being drafted by the Houston Texans in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. It appeared that Cliett had done enough on defense and special teams to work his way onto the big roster, but apparently Rick Spielman and company disagreed. It sounds like the Vikings might want to bring Cliett back to the practice squad, but we’ll see how that works out.More cuts coming from the Vikings over the next couple of hours, folks. (AP) — Wide right, times two.Daniel Carlson missed two field goals in overtime, including one from 35 yards as time expired, and the Minnesota Vikings had to settle for a 29-29 tie with the Green Bay Packers after rallying from a late 13-point deficit on Sunday. The rookie’s final attempt went to the right of the uprights, just like his kick from 49 earlier in overtime. Carlson also missed from 48 in the second quarter.Packers kicker Mason Crosby matched a career high with five field goals Minnesota Vikings Jerseys Stitched , but his potential game-winner from 52 went wide left as time expired in regulation.“It’s disappointing when you’ve got an opportunity to win the football game there at the end and you come up with a tie. It’s better than a loss,” Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said.It was the second straight week with a tie in the NFL after the Steelers and Browns played to a draw in their opener. The result at Lambeau Field overshadowed memorable performances from both quarterbacks.Green Bay star Aaron Rodgers played with a brace on his injured left knee and threw for 281 yards and a 9-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams .But a mishandled handoff with 5:17 left in overtime cost the Packers a chance at another long field-goal attempt. Rodgers recovered the fumble on second-and-1 at the 37, and he was sacked on third down to push Green Bay back to the 47.“Close to an ‘L.’ Doesn’t feel great,” Rodgers said about the tie.Minnesota’s Kirk Cousins threw for 425 yards and four touchdowns, including three in the fourth quarter. He also threw an interception to Ha Ha Clinton-Dix after the ball bounced off the hands of Laquon Treadwell with 2:13 left.Everything seemed to go the Vikings’ way in the fourth, when they rallied from a 20-7 deficit. Until that point, the Packers had put together the kind of complete performance needed to support Rodgers, who got hurt in Green Bay’s opening victory against Chicago.Facing double coverage, Adam Thielen still caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Cousins with 31 seconds left on a drive that included a roughing-the-passer penalty on Clay Matthews. Stefon Diggs caught a 2-point conversion pass to tie it at 29.“I don’t know where to start, to be honest with you. I have so many emotions running through as far as what a terrible call it was,” Matthews said. “At the same time Garrett Bradbury black jersey , I don’t know what else to do.”The penalty negated an interception by Jaire Alexander with 1:45 left that would have allowed the Packers to run out the clock. Referee Tony Corrente said the call was not related to the new helmet-to-helmet rule.“He picked up the quarterback and drove him into the ground,” Corrente told a pool reporter.Rodgers, who finished 30 of 42, didn’t have his typical mobility that allows him to busy time for receivers. But he was able to move around enough to scramble out of trouble on occasion. Operating out of shotgun or pistol formations also bought Rodgers more time. The Packers (1-0-1), though, could have used more touchdowns from the offense. They did get one on special teams after Geronimo Allison blocked a punt that was recovered by Josh Jackson in the end zone for a touchdown.Thielen had 12 catches for 131 yards for Minnesota (1-0-1), while Diggs had nine catches for 128 yards and two scores.JUST FOR KICKERSCarlson said he thought it might have been the first time he had missed three field goals in a game.“I think I went out each time and it was a new kick,” Carlson said. “Went out there confident, but something obviously was off and I’ve got to fix that and help this team.”The last attempt from 35 was set up with the ball placed between the hash marks, but Carlson still missed.JUST FOR KICKERS IICrosby almost had six field goals, but his first Garrett Bradbury Jersey Mens , successful attempt from 52 at the end of the regulation was erased because the Vikings called timeout right before the snap.ALL TIED UPAccording to the NFL , this is the first time since 1973 that there were two ties in the first two weeks of the season. Ben Roethlisberger had a lot of success throwing the ball to Le'Veon Bell over their years together in Pittsburgh and Bell’s new quarterback is looking forward to the same kind of results.Sam Darnold will have to wait a few more days before the Jets open up their offseason program Men Quinnen Williams Jersey , but he’s spent time watching Bell on tape and sees ways that the team’s big free agent pickup can make life easier in 2019 and beyond. In addition to Bell’s ability to make plays as a runner, Darnold has also taken note of his ability to turn a check down into something more productive.“I love it,” Darnold said, via . “I mean, what’s not to love about it? Le’Veon is a great player. He’s very instinctual too. He’s very quarterback friendly Womens Lac Edwards Jersey , which I’ve noticed watching his tape a little bit. Whenever Big Ben was back there, you could kind of sense that, as a quarterback, too, you sense when time runs out. You start looking for guys and Le’Veon is always really friendly and he’s always kind of right there in your vision. Or he was always in Ben’s vision. So I’m looking forward to that http://www.jetslockerroom.com/authentic-sam-darnold-jersey , just whenever I need him, just him to be that security blanket that I need to just check it down and he can get yards after the catch. So I’m really excited about it.”Developing Darnold has been a top priority for the Jets since they took him with the third overall pick last year and Bell’s ability to provide more options for the offense should fit right into that process. The Jets will get to start working with both players on Monday and having them on the same page come September will be a chief focus of all their offseason work.Jets podcast: Looking back on training camp Today is the end of training camp for the Jets in 2018. The team is set to break camp ahead of its third preseason game against the New York Giants. On today’s podcast we take a look back at an eventful training camp and discuss some of the key developments. While we’ve already established this week that the Kansas City Chiefs defense is more toothless than the Abominable Snowman in that Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer Christmas movie from back in the day...(get it? Cause Hermie the elf steals all his teeth? Get it? Get it?? No wonder half of us are terrified of the dentist)....it sure is nice to know the Patriots offensive line is flexing on everyone a little bit going into the game all of America’s talking about this weekend.(Note: ‘game all of America’s talking about’ isn’t just homer hyperbole; they had a question on the Dan Patrick Show yesterday on whether you’d rather watch Pats-Chiefs this Sunday or every other game this weekend (meaning if you watch Sunday Night Football Color Rush Jarrett Stidham Jersey , you can’t watch any of the other games)...guess what everybody chose)Fair is fair, since your faithful keyboard quarterback over here spent most of last season praying that Tom Brady’s recovery PJ’s were legit given the pounding he was taking, we’ve got to give them the props they deserve when they’re playing like a top-10-level brick wall in front of the GOAT.Which they are.Last week, we pointed out that Tom Brady hasn’t been sacked since that part in Week 3 where they jumped into the pool with their cell phone in their pocket, and Pro Football Focus’s offensive line grades are here to confirm that it’s not just you, this O-line might actually be good. How good? Trent, Joe, David, Shaq Youth Jarrett Stidham Jersey , and Marcus grade out well enough to be ranked 9th overall in PFF’s offensive line rankings this week. These are assessments for every team’s offensive line through the season so far, keep in mind, so New England faceplanting through weeks 2 and 3 is all in there too. Meanwhile, as I write this, and I take absolutely no pleasure in having to break the news here, Nate Solder is doing...not great things:Back to our boys up front: PFF has New England’s offensive line graded as the 9th-best unit in football right now. Shot/chaser - they’re also graded as better than the Dallas Cowboys, who, correctly or not, are usually referred to as the manliest of the manly when it comes to O-line wrecking crews. Here’s PFF’s grades for the guys individually:Left Tackle: Trent Brown Womens Jarrett Stidham Jersey , 61.0Left Guard: Joe Thuney, 70.0Center: David Andrews, 71.8Right Guard: Shaq Mason, 72.8Right Tackle: Marcus Cannon, 61.7And here’s their notes on the guy who’s probably picking up the dinner check for everyone for a while, the newly extended Shaq Mason:Four pressures allowed by Shaq in five games. From a fourth-round pick that ran a triple-option offense in college. Drink it in, it always goes down smooth.Without knowing too much about the Ancient Aliens technology that PFF uses to grade offensive line play, it’s also encouraging that the interior of the line appears to all be on the same page and playing at a high level. Sure, there’s been mistakes Authentic Jarrett Stidham Jersey , and there’s been plenty of times they’ve been beaten and Sony Michel or James White’s been stacked up for no gain, but at the same time, you get three guys like Thuney, Andrews, and Mason playing together for the third straight season now, and that’s what that whole “trust” thing is all about.Enjoy your weekend, everyone, and maybe just go ahead and call out of work on Monday now. Pats-Chiefs AND Red Sox-Astros Game 2, and...yeah Jarrett Stidham Jersey Boys , they’re both at home.Never take these runs from these teams for granted.
